The Rotary Club of Cohasset is part of Rotary International which is a fellowship organization whose motto is "Service Above Self".  We raise money to support Education, Health, clean Water and Peace, and we spend service time fulfilling those missions.  The Cohasset club raises on average $50,000 per year and about 50% goes into the Cohasset School District supporting their students with scholarships, dictionaries for every third grader, funding for special programing which has included the African arts program for sixth graders, etc.  We have donated over $500,000 in scholarship money to Cohasset graduates!  Every year we sponsor students to attend RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Association) and last year we paid for five student to go for three days on the Cape.

We feel teaching youth to serve is key to world peace and donate to the Appalachian Service Project helping students to make total strangers' homes warmer and safer.  Cohasset Rotary has helped fund Frannie Noble while she worked with families in Africa.  We sponsored her through the grant process of earning a full scholarship at a university in England to get her master as a Peace fellow.  We helped to cover transportation for Margaret O'Grady to attend the International Medical Conference after working this summer in Togo doing research related to AIDES. Meg was a 2013 graduate and current student at MIT.  We sponsor the Cohasset Boy Scout troop and give financial support to every high student working on his Eagle Scout,   We have given major funding to the Historical Society, Sailing Club and most recently pledged $25,000 to the Cohasset Senior Center.  We are committing funds to the newly formed Safe Harbor project to address heroin abuse.  Internationally we annually support Polio Plus annually and are 2% away from world wide eradication of Polio, which Rotary has lead the research and vaccines.  Internationally our club has most recently helped to build schools in the Guatemalan City dump through Safe Harbors, funded and sent four members to install 100 water filtration systems in the Dominican Republic, and funded computer labs in an underprivileged school in Honduras.
